A monument to the founder of the Apple company may appear in St. Petersburg soon.
A competition for the best concept of the Steve Jobs memorial has been announced in St. Petersburg. As organizers of the project say it can be any idea: from a classical monument, a stele or a memorial plate to an electronic installation.
“Petersburg is justly considered the Russian center of information technologies. There are most well-known universities here, and the school of programming is recognized the leading one in Russia; students of Petersburg higher educational institutions regularly win international competitions on programming. The only Russian competitor of Facebook –VKontakte – has also been created and based in Petersburg. For this reason we believe that Petersburg can be called not only the Northern capital, but also the IT capital of Russia” - representatives of the company Fund Progress IT explained.
