The Department of Economic Security and Anti-Corruption Enforcement of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia has reported of having detected a plunder of over 12 million rubles from budgetary funds.
This money was allocated for restoration of a cultural heritage site of federal value– the historical and cultural monument Gostini Dvor Rotunda in Yaroslavl.
The suspects are two heads of a commercial enterprise and an official of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, - the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia reported.
Policemen established that in the run-up to the 1000th anniversary of Yaroslavl city the Ministry of Culture signed two contracts and an additional agreement, according to which the contract organization received more than 23 million rubles. However, the scope of work carried out amounted to a little bit more than 10.5 million.
Nevertheless, the committee that included representatives of the Ministry of Culture among others signed the acceptance reports.
A criminal case under the article "fraud" has been brought against the suspects.
