Museum of the famous Russian sculptor Ernst Neizvestny will be opened in Yekaterinburg on October 1, 2012.
By this time a two-storeyed building in Dobrolyubov Street is expected to have been repaired. The museum will occupy the area of 230 sq. m. The cost of repair works will make about 1.5 million rubles.
The idea of opening the sculptor’s museum in Yekaterinburg started to be discussed this spring, after his exhibition in the city. Ernst Neizvestny, now a citizen of the USA, agreed to provide his works for free use to the museum only in case of receiving serious guarantees about the museum foundation. Presently the collection of Ernst Neizvestny’s works is kept in Chelyabinsk .
