Advertising has brought Yandex, the largest search engine in Russia, 6.664 billion Rubes in the second quarter of 2012. This is 1.5 times more than for the same period of 2011.
The total proceeds in the second quarter have made 6.8 billion Rubles, with advertising making up 98% in the company’s proceeds.
Contextual advertising is the main income source, its share is 89%. Banner advertising’s share is 9%. Commission for on-line payment guaranteed only 2% of the total income.
The net profit has amounted to 2 billion Rubles.
The number of advertisers at Yandex has exceeded 193 thousand, what is 34 % more in comparison with the second quarter 2011.
