Nothing is ever simple about Madonna. The Russian Internet currently wonders if she decides to showcase her knowledge of Russian swearings at tonight's concert. Apparently, her Kyiv fans were not entirely amused. Not only did they not expect her to use the foul language, least of all they thought she'd swear in Russian. As if this was not enough, Madonna reportedly called the Russian national flag "Ukranian" and was quite befuddled, having seen the real Ukrainian one: "Why, have you got two flags?"
On Monday, 6 August, Madonna attended the opening of her fitness centre, Hard Candy Fitness (we reported this in January this year). It is unknown what list of Russian celebrities was offered to her, but she granted exclusive access to the Olympic figure skating champion Irina Rodnina, the King of Russian Pop Filipp Kirkorov, and a TV diva Oksana Pushkina. According to Pushkina's Twitter, Madonna ordered to turn off all air conditioners, to avoid catching cold ahead of the concert. The lucky VIPs wondered, if they had to wear swimsuits to attend the memorable meeting.
At her previous concert in St. Petersburg the supporters of the recent law against the propaganda of homosexuality and paedophilia hissed at Madonna, and there may be a chance the situation repeats in Moscow. Both cities are still extremely hostile to the cause of homosexuality that Madonna supports. Meanwhile, the singer has already spoken in support of Pussy Riot whose process is currently underway in Moscow:
"I believe in the freedom of speech, and I am against censorship. I hope the girls are freed soon", she is quoted as saying.
And while the mother was busy attending to her fitness club and Russian celebrities, Madonna's children who all came to Moscow with her have been taken on a tour of the Russian Kremlin. The media report that Lourdes has chosen to head back to the hotel as soon as she's noticed the paparazzi; other children gleefully walked in the age-old cobbles of the Red Square.
