Experts have found about 20 archaeological monuments dated to the first millennium B.C in a would-be gambling zone in Primorye Territory.
The law banning gaming business in the entire territory of the Russian Federation and restricting gambling venues to the zones especially ascribed for this purpose came into force on July 1, 2009. One of such areas is located not far from Vladivostok— on the bank of the Ussuriisk Gulf, at the distance of 50 kilometers from the city and 15 kilometers from the airport.
Most of the found monuments dated to the Iron Age are sites of settlements of ancient people who arriving there with trade purposes — for harvesting seafood. According to the law the customer has the choice between shifting the building site and transferring the monuments.
Complete archeological excavations are necessary for transfer of the monuments. By now one of them has already been moved.
