Russia's Federal Migration Service (FMS) has fined the performers of the Chinese Emperor Circus over the lack of work permits, the Service's officials report.
“All of them have been registered in the Migration Service so they were legally staying in Russia, but they did not have work permits. The foreigners have been punished and the circus’s officials have paid the fine,” the migration official said.
According to to the performance’s organizers, the incident took place because of the recent changes in Russian legislation, which came into force during the circus's tour. Previously, the artists only had to make a visa, but now they should have both a visa and a work permit in Russia.
