A monument to Auguste and Louis Jean Lumiere will be unveiled in Yekaterinburg on the Day of Russian Cinema on August 27.
Setting up the monument is timed to the 150th anniversary since the birth of Auguste Lumiere. The new monument will decorate the embankment of a city pond by the cinema and concert hall Kosmos.
The monument will consist of two bronze-cast two-meter sculptures of the Lumiere Brothers along with a bronze movie camera – their major invention. The author of the monument project is Yekaterinburg sculptor Diana Kosygina.
Let's remind that the Frenchmen Auguste and Louis Jean Lumiere got a patent for their invention Cinematograph in 1895 in Paris.
