On August 25, a third Royal Bicycling Festival will take place on the territory of the state culture preserve "Peterhof", near St. Petersburg. The festival will give all comers an opportunity to spend an eventful day in historical decorations of one of the most beautiful St. Petersburg suburbs.
The event will start with a cycle race along the Peterhof's streets and will continue on a meadow in front of the Fermersky (Farmer) castle in the "Alexandria" park, The Village paper reports.
The festival's organizers promise a very eventful program: a contest of suits for cycling, a historical quest-game, a master-class of the Polytechnic Museum for "the wheel reinvention", bicycling sportsmen's performances and jazz concert.
The first cyclists in Peterhof were members of the royal family. 12 royal bicycles, together with suits, bells, lights and other accessories of the XIX-XX centuries, are now presented in the Peterhof's Bicycle Museum.
