The memorial estate Old Sarepta located in the south of Volgograd has long been included into the official List of Historical and Cultural Heritage Sites of Federal (all-Russian) Value.
The museum property embraces 24 real estate objects, which were exploited with numerous violations, according to the recent public prosecutor's check-up.
For example, in Becker’s House there was a shoe repair shop. Another, no less historically valuable, premise of the museum was allocated for a gym.
One more company rented museum rooms for sale of funeral pertinents. Following the results of the check-up the director of the memorial estate has been called to administrative account and a penalty.
The individual businessmen that occupied the cultural sites will have to leave them and pay penalties for violation.
