Two years running, the State Museum of Veliky Novgorod welcomes tourists to see some exhibition places within the museum complex for free on Fridays.

The project started its work in summer 2011 and then hosted more than 4,5 thousands people. This season, the idea has become even more popular with about 5,5 thousands tourists to visit different museum objects within "free Fridays". The most called-for place is an exhibition hall in the bay of a Novgorod Kremlin wall. Many people also visited the Paraskeva Pyatnitsa's church and Likhudov's Kremlin building.

The season was closed on August 24, but the "free Fridays" are planned to continue its work in autumn, in a smaller scale only. The organizers believe that project will become a good tradition for Veliky Novgorod and so will help to attract more tourists to museums of the city.
