Search of the Silver Gate is a fixed idea of Vladimir archeologists. For many years they have been trying to find its location. The chronicles say that Andrey Bogolyubsky decorated this gate with silver, but it is unknown if they were made of wood or stone. 

      During excavations in 27, Bolshaya Nizhegorodskaya Street archeologists have found a wide Old Russian street dating back to the mid 12th century. Its width of 7-8 meters was unprecedented by Old Russian standards and it means that the street was possibly central and led to the Silver Gate. 

      In any case the search of the Silver Gate in the assumed area will begin only if there appear projects of building of these sites. Before construction in the historical city center archeological excavations will surely be carried out. For now the secret of the Silver Gate remains unsolved.
