In one of the barrows of the Murom District archeologists have found remains of a man who was once possibly a notable soldier.
This can be concluded on the basis of the accompanying stock – a few arrowheads and an ancient spear knife similar to the bear spear used in Siberia.
But even after his death the soldier was not left alone – a short time after the burial someone broke the grave; the skeleton of the soldier was split and mixed, whereas his armaments remained untouched. Then the grave was restored in its previous form. According to one of the hypotheses, it could be related to the ritual of immobilization of a ghost.
In the second barrow of the same burial ground archeologists found a woman’s grave. In the sepulcher they found whole ceramic vessels and rustling pendants made of bronze. It is remarkable that they did not make such ornaments in this area. The pendants are very similar to those worn by the people of the Northern Trans Urals (the territory of modern Perm Territory).
Most likely, already in those times there were cultural and economic contacts between the regions.
