On Sunday, at least ten people were killed on their way to a wedding when the minibus they were riding in collided with a truck on a highway in southern Russia's Stavropol region.

Information about the accident was reported by local emergencies at 1:08 a.m. on Sunday. “Ten people, including a child, died in the accident,” the Emergency Ministry's spokesman Oleg Degtyaryov said.

According to preliminary investigation, the minibus was carring the whole family from the Stavropol's Derbent city to a wedding in a local village. In the middle of the way the minibus swerved to an opposite lane and collided head-on with a DAF truck.

Only the truck driver survived, he is under examination right now. Unfortunately, no survivors in the minibus: six people, including the driver, died in the collision, while a man, two women and a five-year-old child died on the way to the hospital.

Traffic police continue to investigate the crash.
