The annual Moscow Autumn Travel Industry Week traditionally attracts multitudes of Travel Industry professionals. Held at the Crocus Expo between 19 and 21 of September, the conference and exhibition aim to showcase the latest industry developments and traditionally gravitate towards the exploration of new travel destinations and ticketing.
This year's programme of events heavily focuses on the new ways to sell and book tickets, particularly online; affordable travelling; Russian travel destinations, particularly Tver, Tula, Kazan, and the Russian Caucasus.
A part of the MATIW is traditionally the Meeting Industry and Business Travel Exhibition and Conference (MIBEXPO). This year's speakers discuss the new trends in MICE events, with a particular attention to combining the value and the high quality of business travel and conference facilities. Evidently, this is the reaction to the global economic crisis and the prediction of its imminent arrival to Russia.
Another cluster of important issues centres around the use of the Internet tools and technologies to promote travel destinations, to plan and book journeys, to monitor the quality of facilities, and to enhance customer service. Several new portals for ticket booking will be presented at MATIW this year; and several speakers on day 3 (September 21) will demonstate case studies and new approaches to managing the Travel Industry business online.
Also a traditional part of the MATIW, the SPA exhibition showcases the Russian and international spa destinations.
We will be present at the conference, so feel free to contact us with your questions at askrussians@russia-ic.com.
