French cheese producer may acquire the Moscow plant Karat

The Moscow plant Karat, the producer of the famous cheeses “Druzhba” and “Yantar”, may be sold to the French Group Bel, a French cheese producer, informs RBC Daily.

Currently the plant Karat is owned by the businessman Vladimir Korsun. According to the newspaper, the sum of the deal may make up just 500 million Rubles, because of the large debts of the company.  The plant is also negotiating with other investors, which are not named. At that Mr. Kornun denies the information.

The company Karat owns a plant Karat in Moscow, a plant Syzranmoloko in Samara Region and cheese fabrics Kalininskiy in Krsnodar Kray. Karat takes the third place in the soft cheese market in Russia with a share of 21%.
