The Gorky Park development tender has finished with the English LDA Design Bureau as winners. The team of 3 experienced professionals will now create a long-term strategy for the park's infrastructure, zoning, transport links that will subsequently become the basis of the park's architectural planning.
Tim Marshall specialises in parks and gardens planning; Darren Baker is responsible for strategic development; and John Fibbs specialises in historical heritage preservation. The team has previously worked to transform the polluted and unkempt area of East London into an enviable hosting venue; they reconstructed New York's Central Park and London's Victoria Park, and they have recently been shortlisted for a renovation project for Blackpool, one of Britain's favourite seaside resorts known for its cheap and simple joys.
The Gorky Park development project will be presented in March 2013. It will embrace the territories of Gorky Park, Neskushny Garden, and 3 embankments (Pushkinskaya, Andreevskaya, and Vorobyovskaya), 120 hectars in total. The project will be carried out in the next 5-7 years and will cost $209,25K. A certain amount will come from the budget, the rest will be donated by private investors.
In the meantime there are at least 17 different things you can enjoy at the Gorky Park - on your own, with friends, or children.
