Electronic retailer Saturn leaves Russia

The German company Media-Saturn-Holding GmbH has given up developing brand Saturn in Russia. A shop Saturn in the shopping center Vegas in Moscow is changing its name to Media Markt, reports The Vedomosti. The other shops will be rebranded up to the end of the year.

The electronic retailer Saturn was first opened in Russia in 2010. Currently there are four such shops in Russia, one in Moscow, two in Chelyabinsk and one in Voronezh. The retailer Media Markt appeared in the Russian market in 2006 and has enlarged up to 35 hypermarkets.

The joining shops under one brand will let Media-Saturn-Holding GmbH optimize expenses and to increase its share in the market. Now the German retailer is taking the third place after M.Video and Eldorado.
