Russia overtook Brazil in the latest FIFA world rankings published on in the organization's official website on Wednesday.
According to the rankings, Russian national football team moves up a slot to 12th after two wins over Northern Ireland and Israel within the World Cup qualifying round. Five-time world champions Brazil slipped two places to 14th, also giving way to France, which took the 13th place.
World and European champions Spain retained top spot, followed by Germany and Portugal. Argentina is the fourth and then goes England which was displaced by Portugal in third.
The biggest climber of the month is Columbia, which ended a decade-long absence from the top 10 hauling themselves up to ninth from 22nd due to defeats of Chile and Uruguay.
