A permanent exposition of modern art will be opened in the State Hermitage Museum within the project Hermitage 20/21.
The exposition will take place in the recently restored rooms of the East Wing of the Main Headquarters.
The first hall to be opened for visitors will be Dmitry Prigov's Hall. This event will mark the start of the project on founding halls of contemporary artists in the new exhibition spaces of the State Hermitage Museum.
Dmitry Aleksandrovich Prigov (1940-2007) is an outstanding Russian poet and prose writer, artist, sculptor, actor, one of the founders of Moscow conceptualism, and the author of a large number of texts, graphic works, collages, objects, installations, and performances.
The opening of the hall will be accompanied with the Festival Days of Dmitry Aleksandrovich Prigov in the Hermitage to be held from November 1 to November 8, 2012 in the Main Headquarters and the Hermitage Theater.
