Famous for her sculptures, Vera Mukhina is barely known as an artist. Meanwhile, her legacy also contains the previously unknown theatre sketches, including decorations and costumes. Mukhina worked on the sets for such theatre works, as The Rose and the Cross by Alexander Blok, The Jokes by Sem Benelli, Electra by Sophocles, and Nahl and Damajanti by Anton Arensky.
These works, together with archival photos and footage, will be displayed for the first time at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Moscow between October 24 and December 2, 2012.
