Famous Russian poetess, singer and songwriter Ada Yakusheva, aged 78, died in her apartment in Moscow on October 6.
Ada Yakusheva (full name Ariadna Adamovna Yakusheva) started writing songs and poems in the 1950s, on a par with popular bards such as Yury Vizbor, Juli Kim, and stage director Peter Fomenko (all of them at that time were students of the Moscow State Teacher Training College).
Ada Yakusheva became known as a singer, first of all, thanks to her songs “Evening is wandering on wood paths” and “You are my breath”. She also worked at the radio as a hostess. The famous song You are my only one by Yuri Vizbor, who was her first husband, was dedicated to her.
