Rosatom may invest in British nuclear power industry

Rosatom State Nuclear Energy Corporation is interested in participation in the building and exploitation of new nuclear power plants in the United Kingdom, claimed Alexey Kalinin, the Head of ZAO Rusatom Overseas.

Rosatom is seeking an opportunity to invest into one of the nuclear power plans under construction. The state corporation also expresses interest in buying into EDF Energy’s planned project at Hinkley Point in Somerset.

Entering the British market will help the company to globalize its business. Rosatom’s stock of orders for the foreign projects makes up more than $ 50 billion. The company works in India, Belorussia, Vietnam, China and Bangladesh.
