The exhibition Under Badge of Rembrandt dedicated to the unique art collection of the Mosolovs family has been opened in the Pushkin Museum.
The visitors will see 50 etchings by Rembrandt and 100 more by his talented contemporaries till January 13 in the Museum of Personal Collections.
The collection donated by Nikolay Mosolov to the Rumyantsev Museum was partially transferred to the Museum of Fine Arts after the revolution. Some of the works turned to be in the Tretyakov Gallery and in the East Museum.
The entire Mosolovs dynasty of collectors lived their life “under the badge of Rembrandt”. It is thanks to this family that the collection of etchings by the great master has come down to us. The Museum of Fine Arts is proud to represent this exhibition: after all it is 50 authentic works by Rembrandt.
