The fifth Russian Internet Week has opened in Moscow on Wednesday, October 17, 2012. Once again the industry leaders plan to discuss the future of the Russian Internet, as well as to discuss the opportunities and trends in online media, globally as in Russia.
The exhibition and a business conference are expected to draw some 15 thousand participants and visitors from Russia, the CIS states and foreign countries. As before, the conference program is packed with guru talks and opinion panels. The common subject is the future of the Runet, the abbreviation for the Russian Internet. The topics vary from online commerce, web stats, and social media to web journalism, Internet security, statutory regulations, etc.
Among this year's blocks of program are: Website optimisation, Web apps and Lead Generation, Online Networking, Internet Technologies for the Internet, Web Management, Crowdsourcing, Online Business, Web Analytics, E-Commerce.
A large number of online businesses, web design agencies, and media exhibit at the RIW-2012 conference, including: The Voice of America, SuperJob and HeadHunter (two leading Russian job portals), Kaspersky Antivirus, Mail.ru Group, Ozon.ru (the Russian Amazon), Alpina Publishers (Russia's leading publisher of business literature), Begun (PPC Advertising), Artemy Lebedev Studio, Rostelecom, and others.
Several events will also take place as part of the RIW-2012. Awards to the best podcast and best website will be given away, and an UpStart Conference will bring together innovations, startups, and business angels. This is the place where the business future of the Russian Internet will be discussed and invested in.
The exhibition and conference last for 3 days, until Friday, October 19, 2012.
