Due to anti-terror military teachings, traffic will be restricted in Moscow city centre, in areas surrounding the Kremlin.
Between 20.30 and 21.00 traffic in Borovitskaya Square, Prechistenka and Mokhovaya Sts will be restricted for the intervals of 3 to 5 mins. This is to provide access of the military machines to the Red Square.
Subsequently, the entire area around the Kremlin will be shut down between 8pm and 10pm for military teachings. The Red Square, Alexander Garden and Vasilevsky Descent will not be accessible for the public.
Various divisions of the state security departments are participating in these military practise. During the teachings they will practise the ways to counter different terrorist threats and various practical aspects of their professional service, including fire safety measures on protected facilities.
This information is important if you were planning a walk in these areas or were going to drive in Prechistenka and Mokhovaya Sts late in the evening. While there is enough time to change your walking plans, it is important to find an alternative driving route. According to Yandex, the traffic density in Moscow currently sits at 5 points.
