A monument to the legendary national actress of the USSR Marina Ladynina (1908 - 2003) has been unveiled in her hometown of Nazarovo in Krasnoyarsk Territory.
Installation of the monument became one of the central events of the Nazarovo Film Forum dedicated to memory of the star of Soviet theater and cinema.
In 1933, having graduated from GITIS, the young actress was admitted to the famous Moscow Art Theatre troupe and served there till 1935. During the filming of Enemy Tracks in 1934 Marina Ladynina got acquainted with the director Ivan Pyryev, who became her husband.
Among Ladynina's best-known films one should mention Tractor Operators, Pig-tender and Shepherd, At Six pm After the War, and The Kuban Cossacks. After 1954 the marriage of Ladynina and Pyryev broke up and after that she did not appear in any new films.
