100th Anniversary of Russian Animation to be Celebrated in Kremlin

 A concert Journey to the Land of Cartoons dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Russian animation, will be held in the State Kremlin palace in Moscow on October 28.

      In addition to the concert, a number of exhibitions dedicated to the history of Russian animation will be held in the foyer of the Kremlin Palace; at the same time, artists and directors of the Soyuzmultfilm Studio and modern animators will show how animated films are created.

      This year marks the 100th anniversary since the premiere of the first domestic animated film. The comedy fairy tale Fair Lyukanida released in 1912 by Vladislav Starevich became not only the first domestic animated film, but also the first experiment in 3D animation and puppet animation in world cinema.
