Spartak 2-1 Benfica
24.10.2012 11:05

Spartak Moscow saved their chances for the Champions League playoff after a victory over Portugal’s Benfica in Moscow on Tuesday.

Rafael Carioca opened the scoring sending the ball past Benfica goalkeeper six minutes in but the Portuguese side equalized after a nice header by Lima.

The Moscow team led again when Eduardo Salvio knocked in an own goal after Evgeny Makeev’s low cross.

Spartak is now in third place with three points after three games in Group G and still has the chance to rise to the second eventually, if it wins the away games in Portugal and Scotland
