The largest Russian airline Aeroflot has confirmed its intention to found a low cost airline in Russia within a year, reports Interfax, referring to the Aeroflot General Director Vitaly Savelyev.
To establish a low cost airline in Russia it is necessary to adopt some amendments in the aviation rules and in the Air Code.
Aeroflot claims, its low cost airline is to charge for baggage and will not offer food on board. The company regards the opportunity of building a new airport nearby Moscow to base the new airline.
Aeroflot will also try to get a permission for nonrefundable tickets and a right to employ foreign pilots.
