A man from western Siberia has refused to pay his traffic fine saying it was pointless as the world would end in December, according to the Mayan prophecy.

      The man, who was fined 1,000 rubles ($32) after a small car accident this summer, has brought local collectors over 10 sheets with detailed explanations, schemes and charts trying to prove that Doomsday was coming soon, and there is no use in paying the fine.

      The man also believes that if people become kinder to each other, and if they forgive each other's debts, there would be no end of world, the local collection service reports.

       Of course, the man's fine is still in force. But only the next day after December 21 will show if he pay it.
