Moscow prosecutors have begun an investigation into the opposition Left Front party on suspicions of spreading of extremist ideas, its leader Sergei Udaltsov said on Saturday.
According to the opposition activist, he received the respective notice by the post with directions to come to testify on November 6 at 2 p.m and to bring with him financial and foundation charter documents for Left Front, although the organization does not conduct financial activity and isn't registered with the Justice Ministry.
Udaltsov says we will go as he and his supporters have nothing to hide. At the same time he says it is still unclear why the probe have been initiated.
Udaltsov believes the probe can be a first step by the authorities toward declaring the party an extremist organization.
