Pascal Quignard, a contemporary French literary classic, the Prix Goncour winner, and a creator of a new literary genre is visiting Moscow to give a talk about the interconnection of Love, Death, and Music.
A writer, dramatist, and violinist, Quignard started his career as an editor at the famous French publishing house, Gallimard. He subsequently left this position to concentrate on writing. A long list of his novels is marked by a profound understanding of History, Music, and Painting. He also worked as a translator from Ancient Greek and Japanese, and composes music. His novel Tous Les Matins du Monde was adapted to screen, with a music score by Quignard.
In Moscow Quignard is going to read from his latest book, Les Désarçonnés, a seventh book in a multi-volume work he has been working on in the last few years. He will also talk about the interconnectivity of Life, Death, and Music, and explain how it is possible to use words to compose music.
The talk is hosted by the Russian State Library as part of the special series inviting world-known authors to talk to Moscow audience.
