State Center of Modern Art in Moscow has opened the exhibition Reality of Painting: Canvas in Art of Germany. 1950–2010. 

      In the framework of the Year of Germany in Russia 32 canvases from the collection of the Bonn Art Museum have been brought to Moscow. The Russian public will for the first time see works by Gerhard Richter, Sigmar Polke, Georg Baselitz, Monika Baer, Willi Baumeister, Werner Gilles, and Andreas Gursky.

      The exhibition gives a picture of how German artists tried to find their way in the development of art, how they revived painting and expanded its limitations in search of modern visual language.

      The exhibition runs till December 16, 2012.
