Nine people traveling in a Moscow wedding motorcade face charges after one of them started firing off a gun, the local police reports.
The wedding party was driving through western Moscow when at least four shots were fired into the air. The police started chasing the procession but managed to detain the suspects only near a restaurant where the wedding celebration was taking place.
During a search of one of the cars, the police found two guns, about 50 rounds of ammunition, handcuffs, a flashing light and a baseball bat.
The suspected shooter is an Azeri-born 18-year-old man, who is now expected to face charges on hooliganism. The eight other drivers face fines for lesser offenses.
A similar incident took place in Moscow in September, when one of the passengers of the wedding motorcade started shooting into the air and then the procession blocked a road in the city center, causing alarm among the capital's residents. At least 15 people of the Chechen origin were detained over that incident. They were fined and released.
