Members of the Opposition Coordination Council have announced their decision to hold a new protest rally on December 15 in Moscow.
The new opposition action, which is to be named "The Freedom March", will mark the anniversary of a protest movement in Russia, when allegations of frauds during parliamentary elections in December 2011 caused mass protests unexpectedly for the authorities.
Sergei Udaltsov, coordinator of the Left Front movement, said the organizers will submit an application to the mayor’s office for a permission to march by the end of next week.
The main slogans for the march will be “Freedom to Political Prisoners!”, “Down with the Dictator!” and “Early Election!” It is planned to hold a people's procession and then a short talk-in on one of Moscow squares.
Udaltsov said the march will be prepared by the headquarters comprising the members of the Opposition Coordination Council. The Council's elections took place at the end of October 2012 with over 82,000 voters participating. According to results of the voting, 45 people have become members of the Coordination Council. The elected team is expected to work for a year, then the next elections will be held.
