One of the most successful conductors in the world, Russia's Valery Gergiev, has earned a 'best performance' Grammy nomination for Rachmaninov's Symphonic Dances. The nomination concerns both the conductor and the London Symphony Orchestra, of which he is Principal Conductor.
Valery Gergiev has been Principal Conductor of the London Symphony Orchestra since 2007. The 59-year-old conductor has already received a Grammy nod for Massenet's performance of 'Don Quichotte' with the Soloists' Ensemble Of The Mariinsky Academy Of Young Singers and Mariinsky Orchestra.
