Legendary Feodor Sukhov has finally returned home. A monument to the hero of the national blockbuster White Sun of the Desert has been unveiled in Samara. According to the scenario, it was in this city where the brave Red Army soldier lived. This is where he was going to through the desert of Turkestan.
A two-meter bronze sculpture has been set up in the city embankment. This gift to Samara residents has been made by the Moscow sculptor Konstantin Chernyavsky. He promised that over time other characters of the movie would join Sukhov as well (his spouse Ekaterina Matveevna and customs officer Vereschagin).
The performer of the role of Sukhov —the national actor Anatoly Kuznetsov — could not arrive at the monument unveiling ceremony, but sent a letter of congratulations and pledged the word to visit Samara at his first opportunity.
