Moscow World Fine Art Fair (MWFAF) opened again, it had been closed due to the economic crisis three years ago. After an enforced "pause" it has undergone a number of reforms: instead of the usual "Manezh" it is located in the "Forum" pavilion in the "Moscow City", the Fair has significantly reduced the number of participants and changed the dates – from May the Fair moved to December.
The number of the Fair participants has reduced: about 50 galleries are gathered in the "Moscow-City", 80% of them are foreign. The central event of the Fair has been the opening of the Christie's auction exhibition “The Italian Renaissance in Moscow", where the masterpiece by Sandro Botticelli "Virgin with the Christ Child and St. John the Baptist" was presented for the first time in Russia.
The mounts of the participating galleries present such artists as Marc Chagall, Pieter Brueghel the Younger, Vasiliy Kandinsky, Andy Warhol, Rene Magritte. Special place is given to the antique furniture and jewelry.
