An exhibition of works by the Italian Renaissance artist Lorenso Lotto (1480 – 1556) has been opened in the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts.
It presents 10 paintings by the artist from collections of Italian museums. Such a large-scale exhibition of Lotto is held in Russia for the first time.
The exposition under the title Lorenso Lotto. Renaissance in the Marcee Province displays works related to the province, where the artist lived and worked in different years of his life. It was in provincial towns where Lotto received most of his orders.
Lorenso Lotto is considered to be one of the greatest painters of the Venetian school.
The exhibition runs till February 10, 2013.
