Russian Wildlife-2012 At the Lumiere Brothers Centre
Lake Baikal

All-Russian photo contest "Russian Wildlife-2012" is organized by the magazine “National Geographic Russia" and the Russian Geographical Society for the second time. The winners were selected in the nominations: landscapes, mammals, birds, other animals, macrography, plants, from sunset to sunrise, nature in black and white, underwater photography, photo story and young talents.

However, this year an additional, special ecological nomination was introduced – it is called "For the clean future of the Lake Baikal", the works for this nomination were accepted from 22 October to 4 November. The deepest and cleanest freshwater lake on Earth is now under the threat of pollution. The special nomination of the "Russian Wildlife-2012" contest is aimed at the attraction of attention to the ecology of this amazing region that can still be saved.
