Billionaire Mikhail Prokhorov says the Russian response to the US Magnitsky Act indicates Russia’s slackening position on the international arena and a drift towards isolationism.

In his blog, a 2012 presidential candidate and the owner of New Jersey Nets saw the traces of the Cold War in the bill almost unanimously approved by the Russian parliament and signed into law by the president.

The bill reveals that the hawks groups in the power elite have prevailed, he said.

The leader of the newly set up Civil Platform party vowed to support those orphans who’ve already met with prospective parents and will now have to give up on their hopes. He promised to give $50,000 to families who are ready to adopt those 46 children.
