A.R.Films Company acquired the film rights to the Nicholas Kononov`s bestseller "Durov Code". The plot of the novel is based on the history of the creation of the largest Russian social network "VKontakte" by Pavel Durov. The producers of the film will be Alexander Rodnyansky and Sergey Melkumov. According to the company representatives, to some extent, the project can be considered their response to the film about Mark Zuckerberg "Social Network" which appeared in 2010 and is based on the life of its creator. On the other hand, the Russian film will be "fundamentally differently constructed". As for the casting, these days the casting for the main roles proceeds, so the list of actors cannot yet be made public. "Durov Code" was released in the late November 2012 and quickly became the most discussed book of the year: after the first week of its sales the book took the place in the top ten. Today already 10,000 copies of the bestseller are sold, besides, the second edition of the novel came to the market. A little later "Durov Code" entered the top 10 non-fiction books of 2012 according to the Russian edition of Forbes. “Durov Code" is a story of the young St. Petersburg programmers who built the largest social network in Russia and the second largest (after Facebook) social network in Europe from scratch.
