The Financial Times has called on the European governments to introduce their own stop-lists for Russian officials involved in the death of lawyer Sergey Magnitsky.
The EU needs to show it's still willing to defend and promote the values that lie at its core despite the economic difficulties, says the newspaper.
Earlier, the US has adopted the so called Magnitsky Act imposing a travel ban and an asset freeze on Russian citizens implicated in the Magnitsky case.
In response, the Russian parliament has banned U.S. citizens from adopting Russian orphans, a move that many have called 'draconian'.
