In the morning of January 1 the city authorities demolished two historical buildings in the center of Moscow.
These were buildings of Novo-Ekaterininsky Hospital in Strastnoy Boulevard, as Archnadzor site reported on January 3.
The demolished buildings were constructed according to Osip Bove's project in the first third of the 19th century. They housed a mortuary and a hospital laundry. On their place the authorities of the capital want to construct a new building for the Moscow City Council.
As Archnadzor states, the constructions were brought down illegally. The decision on demolition was taken on December 26, 2012 by the commission at the government of Moscow, however, the results of historical and architectural research had been concealed from it.
