Plates with QR Codes to Be Set Up on Ural Architecture Monuments

In 2013 monuments of architecture of Ural will be marked with QR codes in the Sverdlovsk Region.

The plates will make it possible to learn information about the monument without resorting to the help of a guide.

The matrix QR codes system with scanning equipment including mobile phone cameras makes it easy to distinguish an object onto which such a plate is fixed. Thus, by bringing a reader element to a QR code, any person will receive full historical information about the object of interest and make a virtual excursion related to it.

The first 30 plates with QR codes in the Russian language were fixed on the building of Theatrical Institute (2, Vainer Street) in Yekaterinburg on December 27. In the near future information on monuments of architecture will be translated into other languages. Altogether such plates will be established on 400 buildings.
