The Moscow Polytechnic Museum has been closed for reconstruction till 2018, with its exposition temporarily moved to a pavilion of the All-Russia Exhibition Centre.
“Modernization of the Polytechnic Museum is a large-scale state innovative project. The concept of modernization provides creation by 2017-2018 of an essentially new museum and educational center uniting the greatest achievements of science, equipment and society”, the museum website states.
"In 2013 the Polytechnic Museum building will be closed for reconstruction. The museum’s temporary exposition is planned to be housed in Pavilion No. 26 (Transport) of the All-Russia Exhibition Centre. The funds will move for temporary storage to specially equipped rooms. The lecture hall and children's educational programs will take place on a popular platform near the downtown. Stage-by-stage opening of the updated Polytechnic Museum in the historical building for visitors is planned for 2017-2018”, - the press service specifies.
