The film director Alexey Fedorchenko will create a movie based on the story The Kid by the Strugatsky Brothers.

      The film will be titled Space Maugli, it will be shot by the movie company February 29 on the basis of the script written by Mikhail Maslennikov.

      The story Kid published in 1971 tells about an attempt of pantians’ resettlement to the planet Ark, which was considered uninhabited. The researchers exploring the Ark found on it a terrestrial child, who had survived a starprobe vehicle and had been brought up by inhabitants of the planet; as a result the pantians’ resettlement to the Ark did not take place.

      The film director Alexey Fedorchenko is the author of the films The First on the Moon and Buntings, which became prize-winners at the Venice Film Festival. His latest work is the movie Heavenly Wives of Meadow Maris.

      Fedorchenko together with Dmitry Vorobyov will also act as the producer of the movie.
