Exhibition Dedicated to Prison Opens in Petersburg

International exhibition Crosses based on the image of the pre-trial detention center No. 1 in Arsenalnaya Embankment is held in St. Petersburg.

      Among the participants there are modern artists from Moscow and Petersburg, as well as their colleagues from Baltic countries, Finland, Mexico, Panama and France. They comprehend a prison subject in paintings, drawings, sculptures, installations and videos. Among the authors well-known to Petersburg dwellers one can mention Dmitry Shagin, Nikolay Kopeykin, Dope Pong group and Yury Shtapakov. Altogether more than forty artists are involved in the project.

      The exhibition will last till February 4 in the Erarta Museum of Modern Art. As the museum reports, the project has been implemented with the support of administration and the board of trustees of the pre-trial detention center No. 1.
