Udmurtia authorities intend to organize all-Russian folk festival "Buranovskie Babushki". It will be held in the native village of the band participants Buranovo, as the head of the region Alexander Volkov told the reporters.
"Buranovskie Babushki" became widely known after their performance in the final of "Eurovision-2012" held in Baku. This band won second place with the song “Party for Everybody” having received 259 points according to the results of the audience vote and the decision of the professional jury.
According to Volkov, the initiative of creating the festival belongs to the Minister of Culture of Russia who expressed this idea just after the performance of the "Buranovskie Babushki” band on May 26, 2012 in the final of "Eurovision - 2012". He also said that the idea of the organizers is to hold the festival "Buranovskie Babushki" annually in different parts of the country, for the first time it will take place in the native village of the participants of the popular collective.
The date of the festival will be announced by the Ministry of Culture.
